Leifeld Metal Spinning GmbH is a world leader in metal spinning machinery and technology. Founded in 1891 in Ahlen, Germany, Leifeld began life fabricating agricultural containers and manufacturing tooling for the hollowware industry. Manual spinning lathes were subsequently introduced followed in the 1950’s by hydraulically powered machines. From these, template copying and NC automatics evolved to be replaced in the early 1980’s by teach-and-learn machines, the forerunner to today’s state-of-the-art Playback machines with full CNC. Ten basic models now encompass the complete spectrum of spinning work, starting with the smallest, the PNC 106, up to the giant PNC 1800 for blank diameters up to 5m.
